Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ head green cabbage, chopped
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can diced tomatoes or tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1–2 cups Fritos corn chips
- Spices: paprika, black pepper, chili flakes, salt (to taste)
- Optional: green onions, jalapeños for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté until soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.

- Add Tomatoes and Seasonings: Pour in diced tomatoes or tomato sauce. Season with paprika, chili flakes, black pepper, and salt. Simmer briefly to combine flavors.
- Layer and Bake: Transfer the beef and cabbage mixture to a greased casserole dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and a generous layer of Fritos corn chips.
- Bake: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the Fritos are golden and crisp.
- Serve: Garnish with sliced green onions or jalapeños if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
You can use tomato sauce for a smoother texture or diced tomatoes for chunkiness. For extra richness, stir in a dollop of sour cream before baking or top with avocado after baking.
