- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
- In another bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add the molasses, egg, and vanilla, mixing until everything is combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until fully blended.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll them in powdered sugar.
- Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are firm.
- Allow to cool before serving. Enjoy your festive cookies!
