Description

A healthier alternative to traditional meatballs featuring ground turkey and a refreshing tzatziki sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated onion, minced garlic, parsley, dill, egg, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Place the meatballs on the baking sheet and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the tzatziki by mixing Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  6. Serve meatballs with tzatziki sauce on the side.

Notes

Ensure not to overmix the meatball mixture. You can pan-fry the meatballs for a crispy exterior before baking.
