Bright and saucy Ground Orange Chicken transforms everyday ground chicken into a flavorful weeknight meal with a citrus punch.

- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients: Zest and juice the orange, mince garlic and ginger, and slice green onions.
- Cook ground chicken in a skillet over medium heat with a teaspoon of oil until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Make the orange sauce by whisking together orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
- Dissolve cornstarch in cold water to make a slurry.
- Pour the orange sauce over the cooked chicken, add the cornstarch slurry, and simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, stir in the white parts of the green onions, and reserve green parts for garnish.
- Serve immediately over rice or in lettuce cups.
Notes
For a spicier version, add chili-garlic sauce. This dish is freezer-friendly; reheat gently with a splash of orange juice.
