- 2 cups rolled oats
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the applesauce, honey (or maple syrup), milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced apples and nuts if using.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Enjoy your healthy treat!
