- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: vegetables like corn or green beans
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- In a greased casserole dish, layer the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
- Spread the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
- Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer.
- If desired, layer optional vegetables on top of the soup.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
