  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Peaches: Wash, pit, and chop peaches. Peeling is optional. Blend or process into a smooth puree.
  2. Cook the Puree:
    Choose either:

    • Stovetop: Pour puree into a pot. Simmer over medium-low heat for 30–45 minutes, stirring regularly.
    • Slow Cooker: Pour puree into slow cooker. Cook on low for 6–8 hours with lid slightly ajar.
  3. Add Flavor (Optional): Once reduced and thickened, stir in sweetener and spices to taste. Continue simmering another 10–15 minutes if needed.
  4. Test for Doneness: Butter is done when it mounds on a spoon and is thick but spreadable.
  5. Store or Can: Spoon into sterilized jars.
    • For canning: Water-bath process for 10 minutes.
    • Or refrigerate for 2–3 weeks or freeze for up to a year.
