Ingredients

- 500g High-Quality Dark Chocolate (at least 70% cacao solids, finely chopped)
- 250ml Heavy Cream (Full Fat)
- 50g Unsalted Butter, room temperature
- Zest of 2 Large Fresh Oranges
- 1–2 teaspoons high-quality orange extract mixed with 1 tablespoon orange juice
- A Generous Pinch of Sea Salt
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (for coating)
- Powdered Sugar (for coating)
- Festive Christmas Sprinkles (for coating)
- Tempered Chocolate (for coating, optional)
- Finely Chopped Nuts (e.g., pistachios, almonds, for coating)
- 1/3 cup chocolate sprinkles (additional coating option)
- 1 tsp orange zest, freshly grated (for garnish)
Instructions
- Chop dark chocolate finely and place into a heatproof bowl.
- In a saucepan, heat heavy cream with orange zest until simmering, then remove from heat.
- Steep orange zest in cream for 10-15 minutes, then strain over chopped chocolate.
- Let the cream sit with chocolate for 5 minutes before stirring until smooth.
- Add unsalted butter, orange extract, and sea salt; stir until combined.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until firm.
- If needed, adjust ganache consistency before scooping.
- Prepare a baking sheet and coating stations.
- Scoop ganache and roll into balls, then chill again for 30-60 minutes.
- Coat the truffles in your desired toppings and chill to set.
Notes
Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 2 months.
