Ingredients

  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and brown the ground beef for 5–7 minutes.
  3. Add diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream, bringing it to a gentle simmer while scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  5. Whisk in the cheddar and Parmesan until melted into a smooth sauce. Season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Add the drained penne and stir to coat with the sauce. Mix in diced pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
  7. Serve in bowls and garnish with chopped green onions.
