Description

A comforting, keto-friendly casserole that combines bacon, cheddar, and seasoned beef in a creamy oven-baked dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble it. Reserve a tablespoon of bacon fat if desired.
  3. Sauté the onion in the reserved bacon fat until translucent, add garlic, then add and brown the ground beef.
  4. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, cream cheese, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. Whisk together eggs and heavy cream until slightly frothy.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the beef layer in the baking dish and sprinkle with cheddar, mozzarella, and crumbled bacon.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until cheese is golden and edges are set.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving, garnished with parsley.

Notes

This casserole can be made ahead of time; store covered in the refrigerator and bake within 24 hours. Excellent leftovers when reheated in the oven.
