Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 – 3 tablespoons milk or cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract, beating until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until smooth.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 22-28 minutes.
  7. While baking, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  8. Spread the glaze over the warm bars when done and let cool before slicing and serving.
