- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder

- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2–3 tablespoons milk or cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract, beating until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until smooth.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 22-28 minutes.
- While baking, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Spread the glaze over the warm bars when done and let cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
Store extras in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
