Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 1 package phyllo dough
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Unroll the phyllo dough, covering it with a damp cloth. Take two sheets, brush with melted butter, sprinkle some pecan mixture, roll tightly, and slice into 1-inch rolls.
  4. Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and brush with additional melted butter.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden brown.
  6. In a saucepan, combine maple syrup, honey, water, and vanilla extract. Simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  7. Pour the warm syrup over the baked rolls and allow to soak for at least 1 hour before serving.
