- 2 cups chopped pecans
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ⅛ tsp salt
- 1 package phyllo dough
- 1 cup melted butter
- ½ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Unroll the phyllo dough, covering it with a damp cloth. Take two sheets, brush with melted butter, sprinkle some pecan mixture, roll tightly, and slice into 1-inch rolls.
- Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and brush with additional melted butter.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, combine maple syrup, honey, water, and vanilla extract. Simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Pour the warm syrup over the baked rolls and allow to soak for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
