Description
These Mint Oreo Truffles are a minty, chocolatey treat that’s unbelievably easy to make, perfect for parties or midnight snacks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (13.2 oz / 374g) Mint Oreo Cookies
- 8 ounces (226g) full fat cream cheese, softened
- 2 packages (12 oz / 340g each) white melting wafers or high quality white chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract (optional)
- A few drops green food coloring gel (optional)
- Festive sprinkles, crushed Mint Oreos, or chocolate drizzle (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Place the whole Mint Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. Alternatively, crush them in a Ziploc bag with a rolling pin.
- Add softened cream cheese to the cookie crumbs and mix until a uniform sticky dough forms.
- Use a cookie scoop to portion the mixture and roll into smooth balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill the rolled truffles in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Melt the white melting wafers or chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave, stirring in the peppermint extract and food coloring if desired.
- Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off before placing it back on the tray.
- Immediately sprinkle with garnish while the coating is still wet.
- Chill again for 15 to 30 minutes until the coating is firm.
Notes
Store truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for 1 to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 1 to 2 months. Let them sit at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
