Description

These Mint Oreo Truffles are a minty, chocolatey treat that’s unbelievably easy to make, perfect for parties or midnight snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (13.2 oz / 374g) Mint Oreo Cookies
  • 8 ounces (226g) full fat cream cheese, softened
  • 2 packages (12 oz / 340g each) white melting wafers or high quality white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract (optional)
  • A few drops green food coloring gel (optional)
  • Festive sprinkles, crushed Mint Oreos, or chocolate drizzle (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the whole Mint Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. Alternatively, crush them in a Ziploc bag with a rolling pin.
  2. Add softened cream cheese to the cookie crumbs and mix until a uniform sticky dough forms.
  3. Use a cookie scoop to portion the mixture and roll into smooth balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Chill the rolled truffles in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  5. Melt the white melting wafers or chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave, stirring in the peppermint extract and food coloring if desired.
  6. Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off before placing it back on the tray.
  7. Immediately sprinkle with garnish while the coating is still wet.
  8. Chill again for 15 to 30 minutes until the coating is firm.

Notes

Store truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for 1 to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 1 to 2 months. Let them sit at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
