Description

A playful appetizer that looks like a mummy and tastes delicious, perfect for Halloween or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce (optional)
  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 candy eyes (or small pieces of olives for edible eyes)
  • Crackers, pretzels, and vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire until smooth.
  2. Shape mixture into a ball using plastic wrap. Chill for at least 2 hours.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out crescent dough and cut into thin strips.
  4. Wrap strips around the cheese ball, leaving space for eyes.
  5. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden.
  6. Let cool slightly, then press in candy eyes or olive slices.
  7. Serve with crackers, pretzels, and veggies.

Notes

To keep the cheese ball from getting too soft, chill it before wrapping. Feel free to experiment with different cheeses and spices.
