- 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Wash, peel, and cut sweet potatoes into 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick fries.
- Soak fries in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and dry thoroughly.
- In a bowl, combine fries with olive oil and toss to coat.
- Mix garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl, then sprinkle over fries and toss again.
- Sprinkle cornstarch over fries and toss until evenly coated.
- Spread fries in a single layer on baking sheets without overlapping.
- Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, then flip fries and rotate sheets.
- Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from oven, optionally sprinkle with sea salt, and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For extra crispiness, ensure fries are dry before baking and avoid overcrowding the baking sheets.
