- 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled (optional) and cut into fries
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika is optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Wash, peel (optional), and cut sweet potatoes into uniform 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick planks, then into fry shapes.
- Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes, then drain and dry thoroughly.
- Toss the dried fries with olive oil until evenly coated.
- Mix garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl and sprinkle over fries, tossing to coat.
- Sprinkle cornstarch over the seasoned fries and toss again to coat evenly.
- Spread fries in a single layer on the baking sheets and bake for 15 minutes without disturbing.
- Flip fries after 15 minutes, rotate trays, and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from oven, serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For extra crispiness, ensure fries are thoroughly dried and avoid overcrowding the baking sheets.
