Description
A delightful twist on traditional pecan pie, these flaky crescent rolls filled with a sweet pecan mixture are perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and egg. Reserve 2 tablespoons of this mixture for later use.
- Stir the chopped pecans into the remaining sugar mixture until evenly coated.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons of the pecan filling onto the widest end of each triangle and roll it up towards the narrow end.
- Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 8 minutes until they begin to set.
- Remove the rolls from the oven and brush each with the reserved 2 tablespoons of sugar mixture. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and, if desired, sprinkle additional chopped pecans on top before serving.
Notes
Best served warm. Pairs well with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to a month.
