Description

A rich and minty fudge that looks festive and is incredibly easy to make, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1.5 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1.5 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract, divided
  • Pinch of salt
  • 12 drops red gel food coloring
  • 0.5 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
  2. Prepare a heavy-bottomed saucepan or double boiler for melting.
  3. Crush peppermint candies in a bag until a mix of fine crumbs and little pieces.
  4. In the saucepan, combine white chocolate chips, 14 oz sweetened condensed milk, and half the butter.
  5. Melt gently over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in peppermint extract and salt.
  7. Divide the fudge base evenly into two medium bowls.
  8. Add peppermint extract to one bowl and stir; add food coloring to the other and mix until uniform.
  9. Drop alternating spoonfuls of white and red fudge into the prepared pan.
  10. Spread gently and create a swirl using a skewer or knife.
  11. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies while fudge is still tacky.
  12. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 3-4 hours.
  13. Once firm, lift out using parchment and cut into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or refrigerate for two weeks.
