Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two or three cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together sugars, oil, pumpkin puree, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk to ensure a smooth batter.
- Divide the batter into the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
- For frosting, beat softened butter, add salted caramel sauce, and powdered sugar, adjusting with heavy cream as needed.
- Frost the cooled cakes, using a crumb coat, chilling briefly, then apply the final coating. Drizzle caramel on top for decoration.
