Ingredients

  • 1 cup ( 2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 ounce ( 2 tablespoons ) red food coloring
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  3. Mix in vinegar and red food coloring until uniformly colored.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low.
  6. Fold in white chocolate chips.
  7. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto baking sheets.
  10. Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are set.
  11. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
