- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the vegetable oil, softened butter, and granulated sugar until well combined.
- Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Once chilled, scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll them in powdered sugar until fully coated.
- Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cookies have crinkled and are set on the edges.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
