Description
A refreshing summer drink made from real peaches and black tea, sweetened naturally and served over ice. This peach iced tea is smooth, fruity, and perfect for hot days or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large ripe peaches
- ⅓ to ½ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 3 bags of black tea
- 4 cups water (for brewing tea)
- 2 cups water (for syrup mixture)
Instructions
- Brew the Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the tea bags and steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and let the tea cool completely.
- Make Peach Syrup: Blend the sliced peaches with 1 cup of water and the sugar for 2–3 seconds until just combined. Pour into a saucepan, add the remaining 1 cup of water, and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh sieve, pressing on the pulp to extract the juice.
- Combine and Chill: In a large pitcher, mix the cooled peach syrup and the brewed tea. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Serve: Serve over ice and garnish with peach slices or fresh mint if desired.
Notes
Adjust sugar depending on the sweetness of your peaches. You can substitute black tea with green or herbal tea for variation. The peach pulp can be saved and added to smoothies or yogurt.
