Ingredients

  • 1 head garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Allow the softened butter to sit at room temperature while the oven heats.
  3. Cut the top off the head of garlic, drizzle with olive oil, and wrap in foil. Roast in the oven for 30–35 minutes until soft.
  4. Let the garlic cool, then squeeze the cloves out into a bowl.
  5. Add softened butter, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
  6. Mix until well combined.
  7. Place the mixture on plastic wrap, form it into a log, and refrigerate until firm.
  8. Use as desired on steak, bread, pasta, or vegetables.

Notes

Chill the butter for clean slices and use room-temperature butter for easier mixing.
