- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples (approximately 3 medium apples)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt, stirring until smooth.
- Gradually add flour to the butter mixture and stir until crumbly.
- Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of the lined pan to form the crust.
- Toss sliced apples with cinnamon and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
- Spread the apple mixture over the crust evenly.
- Drizzle salted caramel sauce over the apples.
- Crumble the remaining flour mixture over the top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, until topping is golden brown and apples are tender.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
