Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup M&Ms
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time and add the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips, M&Ms, and chopped nuts.
  8. Spread the cookie dough evenly on the prepared sheet pan.
  9. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  10. Let cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack and cutting into bars.
