Description

A bright, tangy, and buttery lemon caper sauce that elevates any dish with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons capers, rinsed and drained
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan or skillet, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Pour in the chicken broth or vegetable broth. Bring to a gentle simmer and let it cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to low. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and drained capers. Stir to combine.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley. Taste and season with salt and black pepper as needed.
  5. Keep the sauce warm over very low heat until ready to serve or gently reheat just before serving.

Notes

Rinsing the capers reduces their saltiness. Taste the sauce before serving to adjust flavors as necessary.
