Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the chuck roast dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.

  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 8–9 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours, until tender.
  6. Remove the roast, shred with forks, and set aside.
  7. Pour the cooking liquid into a saucepan; whisk in cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened.

Notes

For best results, don’t lift the lid during cooking. Optional: sear the roast for added flavor.
