- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and butter. Use an electric mixer and cream until smooth and fluffy.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar, mixing well until fully incorporated.
- Beat in the egg and almond extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the cream cheese mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries.
- Drop the dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- While cooling, melt the white chocolate chips in short bursts in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
- Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the cooled cookies and allow to set.
