Description

A comforting spiced pear compote that pairs beautifully with breakfasts and desserts, transforming simple pears into a silky topping.


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the diced pears, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and water.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pears are soft and the mixture has thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 7–10 days in the refrigerator. Can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
