Ingredients

  • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp water (to thicken the sauce)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, water, cornstarch, salt, and garlic powder to create a batter.
  3. Toss the cauliflower florets in the batter until fully coated.
  4. Spread the coated cauliflower on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes until crispy and golden brown.
  5. While baking, make the sauce by combining honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha, sesame oil, minced garlic, and chili flakes in a saucepan and simmer until thickened.
  6. Mix in the cornstarch slurry to the sauce to enhance texture.
  7. Once the cauliflower is baked, toss it in the sauce until coated and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
