Description

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk, warmed to 110-115°F
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup fresh strawberry jam (high-quality, seedless preferred)
  • ½ cup finely diced fresh strawberries
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ cup strawberry jam (same as filling)
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Dissolve yeast in warmed milk and let it foam for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Add melted butter and beaten eggs to the yeast mixture and whisk.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a shaggy dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth.
  6. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  7. For the filling, cream together softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  8. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, strawberry jam, and diced strawberries; mix well.
  9. Punch down the dough and roll it into a 12×18 inch rectangle.
  10. Spread the strawberry cheesecake filling over the dough.
  11. Roll the dough and cut into 12 slices.
  12. Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  13. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 25-30 minutes.
  14. For frosting, beat softened cream cheese and butter together, add powdered sugar gradually, and adjust with milk.
  15. Mix strawberry jam and water for the drizzle.
  16. Spread frosting over rolls, drizzle with strawberry swirl, and serve warm.
