Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 can (21 oz) strawberry pie filling
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whipped topping, thawed
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy; mix in vanilla extract.
  3. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  5. Drop dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry layer.
  6. Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. Spread thawed whipped topping over the cooled cake and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.
