- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 can (21 oz) strawberry pie filling
- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup whipped topping, thawed
- Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy; mix in vanilla extract.
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
- Drop dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry layer.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the cream cheese layer.
- Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Spread thawed whipped topping over the cooled cake and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.
Notes
Chilling the cake for at least 30 minutes enhances flavors and makes slicing easier.
