Description A refreshing and vibrant strawberry sorbet, perfect for summer days. Easy to make with fresh strawberries and just a few ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold running water.
  2. Hull the strawberries and slice them in half or quarters.
  3. In a bowl, combine the strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice; let sit for 30 minutes.
  4. Blend the strawberry mixture with water and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Optionally strain the mixture for a smoother texture.
  6. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
  7. Churn in an ice cream maker or freeze in a shallow dish, scraping every 30 minutes for 3-4 hours until fluffy.
  8. Serve immediately or let sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping.
