Description
Easy and sticky sweet and sour meatballs that are perfect for snacking or serving over rice.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until cooked through.
- In a saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and soy sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
- Add the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce, stirring constantly.
- Once meatballs are done, add them to the sauce and cook together for a few minutes.
- Serve warm with toothpicks as an appetizer or over rice for a meal.
Notes
For crispier outsides, broil for 1 to 2 minutes after baking. If using turkey or chicken, add oil or grated zucchini to keep moist.
