- 4 cups sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar for topping
- 1/2 cup flour for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, melted butter, milk, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix well until smooth.
- Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine chopped pecans, brown sugar, and flour for the topping. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the sweet potato filling.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use fresh sweet potatoes for the best flavor and texture. Consider using heavy cream for an even creamier base.
