- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick (8 tablespoons) very cold butter
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup sifted powdered sugar (for optional glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for optional glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- Wash and pit the plums, cut into desired shapes, and place them in a mixing bowl.
- In a small bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, flour (or cornstarch), cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- Pour the dry mixture over the plums, add lemon juice and vanilla, and toss until coated.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and salt for the crumble topping.
- Add cold butter and mix until it resembles coarse meal, leaving some pea-sized pieces.
- Add oats to the crumble mixture and mix gently.
- Spoon the seasoned plums into the prepared baking dish evenly.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the plums.
- Bake for 40 to 55 minutes until crumble is golden brown and juices bubble.
- Let cool for 15-20 minutes before serving.
- Optional: Prepare a glaze with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, whisk until smooth, and drizzle over the dessert before serving.
Notes
Serve warm or cold. Can be paired with ice cream or whipped cream. Store in airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for 2 months.
