Description

A fun, shareable twist on classic tacos, this Taco Ring features golden, flaky crescent dough encasing seasoned beef and cheese, perfect for gatherings and weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet taco seasoning
  • 2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent rolls (16 triangles total)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • 1/2 cup mild or medium salsa
  • 3/4 cup water
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon melted butter or 1 beaten egg for glaze
  • Toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, red onion, sliced avocado or guacamole, sour cream, extra salsa

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef (or turkey) until no pink remains, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add taco seasoning and 3/4 cup water, stir, and simmer on low heat for 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in cream cheese and salsa until smooth, then stir in shredded cheese until melted.
  5. Unroll the crescent dough and arrange the triangles in a circle on the baking sheet, with wide ends touching and points facing outward.
  6. Spoon the meat mixture onto the wide ends of each triangle, avoiding overfilling.
  7. Fold the pointed ends over the filling and tuck them under the wide ends, sealing the ring.
  8. Brush with melted butter or beaten egg for a golden top, if desired.
  9. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly, then let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve warm with assorted toppings for guests to customize their slices.

For a golden glaze, brush with melted butter or an egg wash before baking. Refrigerate leftovers and reheat in the oven for best results.
